What is EZU?

The EZU project is an innovative concept that combines sustainable tourism, organic farming and education in the unique environment of the Southern European countryside. The basis of the project is a harmonious complex of elements, buildings, functions and services that are arranged according to ancient, modern and organic architecture.

EZU aims to create a safe and quality space that is in harmony with nature and the landscape, offers comfortable and relaxing wellness stays, creates fresh local products within organic farming and enables self-directed education. The project also focuses on minimizing the ecological footprint, sustainability over time, using clean energy sources and supporting the local economy.

For whom is EZU?

The EZU project is intended for a wide range of interested parties: wellness enthusiasts, families looking for relaxation in a healthy rural environment, investment companies, private investors, or seniors interested in active leisure in year-round favorable conditions and within easy driving distance of beaches and busy promenades.

The community aspect is a key part of the project. EZU targets people who profess a high standard of living coupled with friendly and respectful relationships. The creation of a diverse group of investors is supported by the limitation of the number of investment shares per owner (maximum 2 shares corresponding to two functional housing units).

Who manages the EZU?

The operation of the farmstead is usually carried out by a commercial company composed mainly of investors who have participated in the financing of the EZU project from its inception to its completion, in the spirit of Habitat participatif. The main business of the company operating the EZU is agriculture. This organisational set-up promotes effective communication, fair management and also provides opportunities for investors to participate in the development of the project.

A holistic approach to eco-design is at the heart of EZU's strategy, that harmoniously integrates proven architectural forms. This unique concept incorporates Mediterranean antique influences, taking inspiration from classical architecture proven over the centuries, a modern style using contemporary technology and innovative materials, and organic principles respecting natural forms and processes. This synergy creates a unique form of of the EZU project, with a multi-disciplinary team composed of experienced designers, architects and experts from different fields.

Their common goal is to create a visually impressive complex with functional and practical spaces for everyday life, which also represents a sustainable solution in harmony with the surrounding environment of southern Europe rural areas. However, the EZU project does not stop at architecture. The EZU aims to achieve 100% energy self-sufficiency, the so-called island system, and to minimize the carbon footprint of the complex. This approach not only reduces operating costs, but also serves as an inspiring example of sustainable energy solutions for future projects. To achieve this goal and promote innovation, we are working with the research institute One Global Vision and Solution, z.ú. The energy mix of the complex includes:

1. A system of photovoltaic panels and small wind turbines

2. Biogas cogeneration units from local sources

3. Smart thermal and electrical energy storage management system

4. Real-time monitoring and optimization of energy consumption

5. Energy efficient appliances and LED lighting throughout the campus
